On 20 September 2023 MACC signed contract GZ-PENRA-331716 with the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority to supply medium- and low-voltage cables, conductors, wires, steel materials and accessories for the Gaza Strip electricity network.
On 20 September 2023 MACC signed a contract with the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority (PENRA) to supply medium- and low-voltage cables, conductors, wires, steel materials and accessories for the rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip electricity network. The contract (GZ-PENRA-331716-GO-RFB, Lot 1) falls under the World Bank-funded ASPIRE-II project.
The supply includes about 306 km of 18/30 kV single-core 1×630 mm² aluminium XLPE cable, 12/20 kV single-core XLPE cables, about 207 km of ACSR 150/25 mm² conductor along with other ACSR and hard-drawn copper conductors, 0.6/1 kV low-voltage cables and earthing wire, and the steel materials and accessories needed to install them.
All items undergo factory acceptance tests at KEMA before delivery to the Gaza Strip, where they will be used to rebuild and strengthen the distribution network.
