MACC has started the USAID-funded Tulkarem Wastewater Collection System Improvements Project for Tulkarem Municipality: a new Irtah sewage pump station, about 6,800 m of gravity sewers and about 2,700 m of force main, over 22 months.

MACC has started work on the Tulkarem Wastewater Collection System Improvements Project for Tulkarem Municipality, funded by USAID, with a contract duration of 22 months from November 2022.

The project replaces the out-of-service Irtah pump station and extends the collection network to unserved parts of the city, so that wastewater no longer flows untreated into open wadis. MACC is building a new Irtah sewage pump station with screens, pumps, electrical and control systems, about 6,800 m of new gravity sewers (with a further 2,500 m as an optional item), and about 2,700 m of force main from the pump station to the oxidation ponds, with a screen and flow meter at the ponds.

The scope also includes the reconstruction of about 3,000 m of roads along the sewer routes.
